The Director and Principal Dance Teacher
of ‘Quickstep to Dance’ is Paul Mullany.
Paul was born in the UK and lived there until his move to New
Zealand in 2009. However, Paul started his dance career as a youngster and it now
spans some 4 decades. He started his dancing life with medallist awards
from Bronze through to Annual Awards (Oscar equivalent in NZ) in
Ballroom, Latin American, Old Time, and Modern Sequence.
During his successful competitive career Paul became the North of England
Champion for Ballroom, Latin American and Old Time, titles which he held
for several years and retired from undefeated.
He has also been a UK National ‘Champions of Tomorrow’ Winner and UK
National ‘Stars of the Future’ Winner in both Ballroom and Latin Styles.
Paul also was a regular competitor at the British Open and British
National Dance Championships in Blackpool, and also the other major UK
events.

He undertook his Professional Dance
Teaching qualifications whilst in the UK and since arriving in New
Zealand has gained an excellent reputation both locally and nationally
for his teaching skills.
His teaching includes competition and medal pupils, social
dance classes and he has led the
Introduction to Ballroom Dancing in the form of Adult Community
Education Dance Classes at a local College. Paul has also instigated a
project to introduce Ballroom Dancing into Schools which is actively
supported by the local Primary School Principals.
He is also on the National Judging Circuit for Ballroom dancing.
