Helen Young
My son Gregory has been dancing for over six years, and he
was in Competition Dancing for one year. He went to Paul Mullany at the
beginning of 2010, as he wanted to continue
Dancing. We went to Paul because I felt that a male teacher would be of a
benefit to Greg. He has learnt more in the last 21 months that he has
been being taught by Paul than he had in all the previous five years.
Paul has encouraged him in his practice lessons and also when he enters
the Partner Excluded events in Open Competitions.
Greg is starting to get his confidence back and now enjoys dancing; he
now plans to continue next year and beyond that with Paul as his teacher
at Quickstep to Dance. Paul is a great teacher and I would recommend him
to anyone who is thinking of taking up dancing.
Thanks Paul for giving Greg the encouragement and confidence to do well.

In our retirement we enjoy learning to dance with Paul in a supportive
and non-threatening atmosphere. We learn a wide range of dance styles
including ballroom, Latin American and tango. The lessons are challenging
but fun. Fitness and social contacts are positive spin-offs from our
lessons.

In Terms Two, Three and Four this year Paul tutored Introduction to
Ballroom Dancing for Couples. It filled up fast and was a successful
course. Paul brings to his courses a high level of skill and expertise, a
great sense of humour and a high standard of professionalism. His
students this year have clearly enjoyed his courses and the fun factor
that Paul brings to his courses. I would highly recommend Paul for any
ballroom dancing teaching opportunity. He is a true professional and a
delight to work with.

My two children have taken dance lessons with Paul since
the inception of Quickstep To Dance.
Paul instils fantastic technique which is passed on to his students who
in turn strive for perfection. Paul has a great ability through his depth
of technical knowledge to communicate to the individual’s ability and
understanding, teaching from primary school age up to dancers in their
80's, he makes each lesson fun and informative. He teaches his students
to practice effectively and encourages them to phone him should they get
stuck whilst practicing.
Paul's commitment to his pupils is second to none, getting up at 4.30am
to do a one day round trip to Christchurch because my children were
nervous about trials with new partners shows his dedication to the Studio
and his students. He is a great mentor and offers support and new goals
when things don't go as planned and is exuberant when Competitor’s and
Medallist’s do well.
“Best fun I have had in ages, laughed
heaps and learnt a lot”

“Tutor very enthusiastic, patient and

“Paul is a very enthusiastic tutor, with
an appreciated non-threatening approach.”
“Makes dancing achievable even for those with no
experience.”

We wanted to have our first dance choreographed and we
were recommended to Paul from a friend. When we first went to see Paul
neither of us had done any dancing but he was very reassuring and
assured us we would be fine. We gave him the track we wanted to use and
we made an appointment to come back and see him in a few months time.
From our first lesson Paul was very patient with our dancing skills or
lack there of!!! He broke all the steps down and went through them with
us one by one. Paul was friendly and very professional and made us feel
at ease if we forgot the steps. Paul was also very accommodating with
our lesson times and trying to find times to suit both our schedules.
On our last few lessons when we had managed to master all the steps and
were a little more confident with the dance he fine tuned a couple of
aspects of the dance making it more personal.
On the night of our wedding when it came to our first dance we were both
relaxed and well prepared for it. And because of the kind words,
patience and understanding of Paul we pulled it off with out any toes or
dress being stood on!!!!
We would highly recommend Paul to anyone wanting to have their first
dance choreographed.

Both of us decided that it would be a good idea to have
some dance lessons before our wedding, because neither of us had done
that sort of dance before. After looking around for a while we found
Quickstep to Dance, who offered a specific package for First Wedding
Dances. We met with Paul, and after finally selecting our music, he
choreographed a routine just for us. Paul was a great teacher, very easy
to work with and made the whole experience fun and nothing like a lesson
at all. On the night our friends and family were thoroughly impressed
with our dance.
We highly recommend Paul and Quickstep to Dance to help you with your
First Dance.
Thanks Paul

I wanted to thank you again for all your help in choreographing our
dance routine and teaching us how to dance. Riley and I had both never
danced before and I had my doubts whether anyone would be able to help
us let alone with only three weeks to do it in – to my surprise we
weren’t beyond help.
For us, and especially Riley, the highlight of our day was the first
dance. There were no nerves involved as we knew what we had to do and
were confident with the routine. The audience loved it! Everyone was
sufficiently shocked that we did more than just move around awkwardly to
the music.
Most importantly the routine matched our personalities well and really
worked with the music. You would have been really impressed, we managed
to make it ours and it was heaps of fun.
I like to think that in the years to come we will be able to treat this
routine as our very own and dance to Wagon Wheel on our anniversaries at
least.
Thank you again, we have no hesitation in recommending you to others.

As complete rookie dancers, we contacted Paul to help us learn to dance
to the song we had chosen for our First Dance at our Wedding. We found
Paul to be very professional and he really listened to what we wanted to
achieve with our dance.
After one meeting, Paul choreographed the perfect dance for our song and
over a period of 8 lessons had us feeling confident and 100% ready for
the big moment. Paul was very easy to work with, was extremely
supportive and ensured that we enjoyed every part of the process.
Thanks again,

‘So we arrived at Paul's lessons as a
couple who had never managed to dance with each other over our 7 year
relationship, mostly due to me (legendary in my own family for my lack
of co-ordination).
It was immensely important to me that my first dance with my wife was an
actual dance, and not just a shuffle round a dance floor.
We decided to undertake dance lessons, and with low expectations of our
own ability had our first informal chat with Paul regarding what we’d
like to do. He was extremely kind and understanding, with an attention
to detail that confirmed to us that we had the right teacher. Paul
worked out a routine suited to our abilities, and while it seemed a huge
undertaking at the start, his patience and encouragement soon had us
dancing, which was a huge surprise to everyone, but him!
By the 3rd of 6 lessons, we were polishing the routine rather than
practicing and the wedding dance itself went down a storm.
We couldn't be happier with the treatment and tuition that Paul has
provided and we really couldn't recommend him highly enough! In fact
after returning from our honeymoon we have gone on to join Paul’s
beginners ballroom and latin classes we love his teaching style so very
much!
Thanks so very much Paul for your talent, professionalism, integrity,
style, sense of humour and AMAZING ability to get those of us with two
left feet dancing!’

‘Paul, both Tom and I can't thank you
enough for choreographing our wedding dance for us. Both of us had never
danced before in our lives so trying to learn a step by step dance I
thought would really be impossible for us.
You managed to teach us our dance in 2 short lessons one week before our
wedding. I never thought that in 2 short dance lessons we would know our
dance but Paul made that possible for us. Everyone was so impressed with
our dance, and especially with Tom because dancing is right out of his
comfort zone.
Tom and I both felt very comfortable around you. Paul is very positive
and supportive throughout the whole process and there were many laughs
while learning the dance.
Tom and I would both recommend Paul at Quickstep To Dance to help you
choreograph your special dance at your wedding. He is such a kind bubbly
person to work with and makes it very enjoyable.
Thanks again Paul, your awesome!’

Having seen
Quickstep To Dance at a wedding show we were relieved to know there was
someone out there willing to help those with two left feet with their
‘First Dance’.
Apprehensive at first, Paul managed to choreograph a dance to suit our
abilities and made us look like we had practiced for months not just 6
weeks!
Even more special is the fact the dance is made by Paul especially for
you. No one will have seen the same routine at someone else’s wedding.
The whole experience was fun and added enjoyment in amidst the at times,
stressful task of planning a wedding.
We would definitely recommend Paul to help those with their ‘First
Dance’. Thank you so much!

‘We both lacked any dance experience and were looking for someone to
provide us with the skills to pull off a first dance that we could be
proud of.
Paul was able to choreograph a dance routine to our chosen piece of
music that reflected our level of experience but enabled us to feel like
we were pro's.
Paul provides a professional yet relaxed approach to the lessons and
works hard to draw out the individual personality in each person. We had
loads of fun throughout our lessons and we would thoroughly recommend
him’.

Paul at
Quickstep To Dance was an outstanding dance instructor. My partner was
somewhat reluctant to have wedding dance lessons initially, and later
was the first to say he enjoyed every minute of every session, and we
were both sad to see them come to an end.
The choreography Paul used was excellent for both our music and us as a
couple. We liked that he tweaked things as we went along, to add flair
and pizazz, once we developed confidence and Paul came to know our
characters.
He is a positive instructor, who has a neat sense of humour, whilst
encouraging high standards for the best outcome. Travelling from away,
Paul organised a place and time to suit us best, and was very
accommodating to our needs.
We received amazing feedback following our first dance, and both relish
the whole experience from start to finish! Thanks Paul!
Regards,
